How to Boost Your Immune System:

When the ground hog, Punxsutawney Phil, saw his shadow earlier this month, he predicted six more weeks of winter. With these extra cold and shadowy days, there are more chances to catch the winter chills. Having a great immune system allows the body to fight off germs you may catch throughout your day. There are some simple things you can do to ensure your functioning at your optimal levels.
Regular exercise can help to boost your immune system function.
- Don’t smoke – This weakens the natural immune system by killing antibodies and cells that would normally protect us against foreign invaders.
- Maintain a healthy weight – Eating a diet high in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains; also, eating a low diet in saturated fats.
- Exercise regularly – Going for as little as a 30-minute walk each day has been proven to increase the body’s defense cells at a higher rate. Increased circulation also triggers immune cells to defend against virus and bacteria.
- Control your blood pressure – Because our blood pressure is regulated by so many different systems in our body, allowing those system to work without restraint will allow the body to fight with all its might.
- Get ADJUSTED! – Chiropractic adjustments will help boost the body’s optimal responses to bacteria and viruses. Decreasing nerve compression and irritation affecting organ systems allow increased immune function.
